My Story
Behind the Words
My dad taught me to read when I was three. When I started kindergarten, I became a bit of a problem child because my teacher wanted me to cut out the letter B from a piece of paper and I just wanted to read. Books and reading have been my passion ever since.

Before road trips, I would check out great piles of books from the library and finish reading them before we got to our destination. I have been a member of the same book club for over twenty years because when you find your book people, you hold on to them. Space on my bookshelves is always in short supply and I have even been known to make gifts from folded books or book pages (ones rescued from the thrift store!). When I’m not reading or editing, you can probably find me baking cookies or working on a puzzle.

When I returned to college after raising children, I decided to try the new editing & publishing major. I’m afraid I’m one of those annoying people who gets up in arms about spelling errors and misplaced apostrophes in print and on signs. It seemed like a natural fit.

As an intern with Brigham Young University’s Faculty Publishing Services, I have gained experience editing a plethora of academic works in various disciplines. I can do substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, indexing, source checking, and make sure your manuscript is positioned in its best possible light. I look forward to helping you get your ideas published!
