Word Up Editing offers skilled editing services to help authors and companies put their best text forward.

I can ensure that your manuscript flows well, conforms to any required style guide, and has perfect spelling and pristine punctuation, giving you the best chance of getting your work published and getting your message out there. I have received excellent training and experience in BYU's editing and publishing program, which has added skill to my lifelong passion for good prose and clean text. I have experience with the following:

• Academic documents: Editing scholarly articles and manuscripts, creating indexes, source-checking, and dissertations

• Technical documents: Writing and editing technical manuals and how-to documents

• Fiction and nonfiction: Editing fiction and nonfiction books for all age ranges

• Marketing materials: Writing and editing ads, blog posts, website content, and product user manuals

I have intermediate experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop (designing newsletter layouts, magazine spreads, business cards, and posters/flyers). The Chicago Manual of Style is my favorite, but I can also format your manuscript for APA, MLA, AP, AMA, and other specialized style guides. I provide attention to detail, strong project management, and excellent customer service.

Whether you need line editing, copyediting, proofreading, sensitivity reading, or more, Word Up Editing can help. Please reach out to me so I can help you refine your ideas and writing and get them published.

The encouragement I needed

Michelle did a great job copyediting my book. She caught misspellings, wrong punctuation, and helped me with conventions that conformed to a literary style guide. She helped with word choice and had suggestions about how to choose my words carefully when broaching sensitive topics. She did all this while remaining encouraging during a time when I needed help to finish a book that challenged me.  Because of her, I was able to finish my book and be proud of my work.  —Sue Campbell Clark
